Pain

Today is day 6 following surgery. I think the hospital mess have finally left the body. The pain. Under my arm and down my arm as well as my breasts. And numbness. Trying to be positive but this pain is distracting I tell you! When hubby comes home he is taking me shopping for pillows. I need pillows to elevate my head and legs while I sleep in bed, otherwise I am in more pain. I will pick up a journal too, as I want to document this eye opening journey.

    Thanks I will definitely look for that. It is a weird feeling, this numbness and fullness under the arm. I think my tolerance for the pain is changing too.

    Hope you are feeling a bit better. I had the same problem. But a kind lady showed my husband how to massage my arm gently to redirect after lymph node removals this definitely worked for me and wasn't something the hospital had told me to do. So I suggest if you have a physio near you you give them a visit for some advice. Good luck regards. Moira xx

    I spill facebook and tell it like it is, so everyone knows what its like to have breast cancer!  In an informative way, they all love it.  I removed all people I didnt want to share it with first.  I also document in my normal diary, how I feel, side effects, medications, food I eat etc and I started a tell it all on the computer and in a book - but lost interest.  But do whats right for you!   I wish you well with your recovery and you will find this website is fantastic and youll meet lots of great people in the same situation to give you support and advice.  Just remember when you read anything, you situation will be different to all others, rare to find 2 people exactly the same.  Just assume you will sail through it and get lots of support as you go!  Take care, Bel
