Pain after treatment

Hi,

I was just wandering if anyone can tell me what is 'normal' pain after lumpectomy, breast reduction and reconstruction surgery?

I've had chemo and finished radio in May but my boob is still quite sore, anywhere from 5 - 7/10 some days.  My surgeon tells me it's normal and not to worry.  I have been feeling pretty yuk lately also. Had the flu which after about 4 weeks has pretty well gone now but have rib pain and feel like I can't take a proper deep breath.

I am worried about mets too. I have a mammogram and u/s next few weeks so quite nervous about this.

Has anyone had similar experience and what should I look out for? Thanks

  • Hi kalkat

I would suggest you go see your GP for a second opinion or even one of your oncologist.

Whether there is something wrong or not, you are worried and u need to be given peace of mind.

I did have lumpectomy followed by 2nd surgery for total axillary so different to yours.  I have done chemo and 1/4 way through radio.  I do get some pain some days but not cosistent and maybe 5/10???

    U need peace of mind.......
