paclitaxel side effects vs ac

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has advice to offer on their paclitaxel experiences?  I have just finished AC which was absolutely disgusting and I am freaking out about starting on paclitaxel.  Paclitaxel will be once a week for 12 weeks.

  • I found paclitaxel a breeze in comparison to AC. You'll feel less walloped especially in the first few weeks. However, it does have side effects that layer on over time. You'll know about peripheral neuropathy which is tingling in fingers. I am 8 weeks past my last dose and I still have some tingling and numbness but I'm not complaining as it is pretty minor. Do take care of your nails. At about week 9 my fingers were really painful, and for some reason (autumn leaves) in the previous week I had decided to clear out my gutters on a ladder with rubber gloves on. Also that week I made merry with champagne and I kind of think that's why my nails started changing colour and started to lift off. In hindsight, I wished I hadn't eaten for comfort so much (5kg worth!).

    Take care xxx Meg
