Ouch

Help! I'm in serious ouch mode. Started to get a sore wrist a few days ago and it feels very much like RSI I've had in the past. Put it fine to too much iphone time. When my hubby massaged my arm all the muscles were very very tight. Today I am in so much pain I can't pick up a coffee cup or put any weight on it whatsoever. Feels like a very painful sprain and my forearm is swollen. I'm heading straight to the doctor in the morning but is this femera at work? Has anyone else experienced something like this? Thanks! ox

  • Hi Chtis...thanks so much for taking the time to respond. I haven't got the same syndrome you have ... but a serious case of RSI like injury. The physio said because of what I've been through, my immune system will go into overdrive and so the inflammatory response is acute and massive. Or words to that effect. Lots of massage, ice, more massage, more ice today and now in a wrist support. ah the joys. But my new normal means I'm just very happy it's an injury like this and not mets. There is nothing normal about thinking like this far as I'm concerned, but that's the way my mind thinks these days! Glad to hear you got better without cortisone. Hoping the same for me! xox
  • Hi Dawn, I had sore wrists for 10 months as well as 4 trigger fingers, and I have been on Femara for 2 years now. Both my wrists became sore at the same time, and it was diagnosed as de Quervaine's disease, which is inflammation of the tendon that runs down the back of my thumbs and in to my wrists. It would feel like electric shocks and was very painful, and almost impossible to pick up things, and my finger joints became weak and stiff, and the trigger fingers started. Moving house aggravated it, but anti inflammatory medications would help for a bit. I have seen hand physios and worn splints for 9 months to bed. I did have an ultrasound to diagnose this, and there is treatment available. Eventually mine recovered, and I avoided needing the cortisone injections that I knew would work. I didn't want to have these on my lymphodema side, so waited it out. My fingers are now a lot better and my joints have improved. I think Femara had something to do with it. Go and see your GP and have some tests done to see what your problem is. Good luck with it all. Love Chris xx
