oopherectemy (overies removed)

Hi everyone I want to know if there are other women out there in there early 30s who were tripple positive and told that I should have a monthly injection to stop periods for 5 years or have my overies removed to stop estrogen production. If there are women out there that have done procedure how do you feel?

  • Hi Mandy I had an oophaectomy in Dec 2013 at my request due to issues with tamoxifen and my periods. It's different for everyone but for me it was better than the alternative. I was 31 and the main side effects was hot n cold flushes, aching joints (though vitamins helped heaps) less patience for stupid people and changes down there (easily sorted with a discreet gel mail order). Good luck

  • I know its scary. I am thinking if I go that way then to go for a full hysterectomy so if needed I can take hormone therapy which can only be given if you have removed your uterus as well. Have an apt with with gynooncologist and hopefully will get more answers.
