I had an oophaectomy in Dec 2013 at my request due to issues with tamoxifen and my periods. It's different for everyone but for me it was better than the alternative. I was 31 and the main side effects was hot n cold flushes, aching joints (though vitamins helped heaps) less patience for stupid people and changes down there (easily sorted with a discreet gel mail order).
