Hang in there Peta. That last week is awful waiting but you are getting there. Do you have your house prepared for your time off and pantry stocked etc? I spent most of my time when I wasn't researching on the internet with preparing home so I could be as lazy as I wanted post op.
Yep the cancer can itch, burn, pinch like a heart attack and mine I even had my little finger tingly on and off. I can't say I miss that although after the mastectomy the weird numb areas and pinchy pain sometimes and the feeling of ants under the skin as all the little nerves re-arranged themselves was annoying. Try and stay off the strong pain killers now and save them for post op.
Good thing my physio said after my surgery is I cant really injure anything moving around and doing light duties so that was a plus. I felt rather broken at the start. I soon got to know the new me and got accustomed to it.
