One week today!

Hi Troopers!
Hope everyone is sailing along smoothly! Hugs to everyone..

From today's FB blog

Today marks one week since my first round of chemo....It has been the s l o w e s t week of my life...

Day 7 - after Round 1

Sketchy dreams invaded my sleep again last night. Have made note of them to interpret later....

Woke up really early and couldn't go back to sleep after hubby left for work, flickering picture filled my head again, so I got up and had my breakfast of weet bix and pills. I got tired again after about an hour so I went back to bed and slept until 8:30am..Weird dreams again! Hmmm....

Still no hell fire! But I do have heartburn... :/ So until I go to the GP I'll take gaviscon...

I feel tired but good today, but still tire really easily and I woke up with the shakes again, but that is settling too....have a mild headache but not too foggy...

Cording and neuralgia have hindered my right arm movement since my first surgery..I made it excruciatingly painful to touch and move at first, but with exercise I have slowly made progress with it. The neuralgia is almost gone now, only a touch remains on the outer part of my elbow and a little under my arm. I am waiting for physio appointments to be scheduled too.

Managed to get through my exercises without too much drama although the cording in my arm has now moved to my lower arm and wrist now. I can lift my arm to shoulder level now, move it backwards and hold up above my head only when lying down (who would have though it makes a difference to lie down?) I have to be able to keep my arm up above my head later for radiation treatment... I can also "walk" my hands up the wall to above my head now.... It's a slow and steady pace, but I'm getting there...I still have to remind myself that it's only been 6 weeks since my first surgery! Time has virtually stood still but flown by at record speed at the same time!

I'm hoping to get a few good days in before next treatment...I'm getting a bit stir crazy...it would be good to make it down the the water's edge sometime!

Today I will potter around and maybe make some banana muffins., even if don't feel like eating them :)

Have a good day! :)

  • Yum, Yum and Yum :)

    Thank you for the recipe. I am not much of a cook but this looks easy!

  • It an old recipe I had...It never fails...

    Easy Banana Muffins

    Ingredients;

    3-4 ripened bananas

    1 cup of sugar ( I used caster as I don't use white sugar for anything!)

    2 tblsp butter or marg

    1 egg, beaten

    2 cups self raising flour

    2 tblsp milk

    Pinch of salt

    Method;

    Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Greas muffing tin.

    Mash egg and bananas together, then add all other ingredients and mix well....be careful not to overmix as the muffins will not rise!

    Fill muffin tins 3/4 full each

    Cook for approx 20 mins until risen and golden!

    Cool in tray then on a rack.....ENJOY!

    I added the blueberries because I had some in the fridge, but you can add the fruit component to be anything, just remember to be gentle mixing if using whole berries,  and walnuts also go well with the banana too!

    - You're welcome! :D

  • I read banana muffins and have a craving for them now :)

    Is it your recipe?

  • Hi Tracy

    I bet there will be lots of us can relate to that level of tiredness - great pic!

    Hope you find some energy returning this next week. Glad your side effects are going. One chemo done, yay for that! :) Deanne xxx
