One Week After
Hey Guys,
Its been 1 week since my mastectomy and today I feel fantastic. Feel like myself again, Not tired. Little pain. able to concentrate long enough to come on the computer, watch a movie and even do a crossword... The last week I've been going nutz with boredem.... I had so much I couldve done so many dvd's to watch but i just couldnt stay still when awake and felt so tired I napped every few hrs. But today.... relaxed, rested but just wasnt anxoius I guess... Didnt think i was anxoius but now looking back I guess I was....
Went to the breast surgeon on Monday and was told I was cancer free and I should not need anymore treatment. No hormone replacement, no chemo and no radiotherapy.... However my case was very rare and very strange so they will keep a very close eye on me and i should not think that i am fully cured but there is no evidence YET that I'm not. Sounds confusing, I know...
Plastic surgeon appt tomorrow, as I had implant reconstruction done same time as mastectomy. Dont know what to expect there. Still have my drain tube in which i hope to get out tomorrow.... fingers crossed!!!
But just thought I'd let u all know I'm feeling good. Not ready to jump thru any hoops yet or go back to work and not counting all my chickens until there lining up - which i know may never happen. but staying positive.
Only downside I feel at the moment is the Doctor recommends my husband and I dont have kids for atleast 2 yrs... We werent planning on it 'right now' but we were talking about starting to try soon. I know 2 yrs isnt long & we are young. This could be a blessing in diguise, gives us time to get our lives back together and become stable enough to have kids. Concentrate on us and our careers in the meantime. 2 yrs will fly... But its just hard to hear... Now the fear in my head, what happens if we cant have kids. or if we do will my children have to go thru this like me????
Well thats my thoughts right now....
