One Week After
Hey Guys,
Its been 1 week since my mastectomy and today I feel fantastic. Feel like myself again, Not tired. Little pain. able to concentrate long enough to come on the computer, watch a movie and...
well Done - that's great news that you don't need any further treatment. I totally relate to the confusing feelings re: the cancer - I didn't understand why I needed treatment if the cancer had all been cut out but it was explained to me the impact of my type of cancer and that it was in my lymph nodes. If there is one thing that I have learned it is how individual everyone's cancer and treatments are.
I'm sorry that you have been told to wait a couple of years to have kids. Did you ask the Dr why? Maybe understanding why would help you to come to terms with it. On the upside (as a mum of three young ones) its a great opportunity to focus on you and your husband and enjoying married life first. (I have personal experience with a friend diagnosed with BC when her first child was 3 months old and then again relapsing after her second pregnancy (she didn't think she would fall pregnant after her chemo) so there may be something in what your Dr is telling you. )
I'm sorry you didn't get your drain out but it won't be long! Tomorrow will be 2 steps forward again. :-)
Take Care,
Amanda
