one drain out, one more to go
Thought you would like to see the beautiful outfits made for Melbourne Cup Day. The day surgery staff made all their own outfits and accessories for Melbourne Cup . Everything was made from dressings and bandages. A lot of effort went into these outfits..It made the day a bit more fun and everyone was in a good mood. I wore my fascinator to theater, everyone laughed........it was a hoot.........my surgeon came over and gave me a big cuddle...
......This morning, finally after 12 days, the community nurse was able to remove one of my drains. It is such an ordeal carrying them around everywhere. The hospital gave me a bag to carry them in but it is a nuisance. Maybe one more day for the remaining one..it didn't hurt at all, although my husband was by my side holding my hand tightly........ the community nurse said I was lucky having such a supportive husband. He sure is looking after me.Even the community nurses from my area have been supportive and professional in their daily visits.Everyone really cares about you and makes sure I am feeling OK.
Showers have been awkward and sleeping uncomfortable, but on the plus side my wound is healing very well. We visit the surgeon on Wednesday for a followup. Expecting good news.
