Hi Cashallna. I was told the drains could be in for up to 4 weeks. Mine fell out on day 7, just before I was discharged from hospital. Luckily I don't seem to have had any ill effects as a result, even though ther had been 60-100ml drainage in the 12hours leading up to it falling out.
