Oncologists

I have a reocurrance of Triple negative and now in my sternum. Has anyone used Paul Mainwairing (Mater Private - brisbane) as an oncologist? Did you like him? Can you give me any information at all... I would really appreciate it.

I have seen 3 Oncologists now and 2 were in agreeance together and Paul was all for the new treatment targeting DNA. I am so nervous about this but had a reasonable good positive feeling.. but got the feeling he has an ego, but I guess that in a way is a good thing as most oncologists to date just don't believe in their medicine.

I am so confused. Any help you can give on him would be greatly appreciated. thankyou xx

    Hi liv, I have it in my bone in my sternum. Thanks honey. So did you get rid of the nasty c? What chemo did you do?

    shereejoy so sorry to hear about your mets - keep strong and fight with all you have. i have mets in the chest nodes which are clearing up with navelbine and xeloda. are yours in the bone or the nodes?

    as im in wa perth he arranged a link up with me by skype.

    we didnt go too far into anything as i had just been referred to new onc over here in the west, a andy redfern and basically all paul did was tell me yes to go and see andy and highly recommended him.

    like you i had heard many many good reports about paul mainwaring and dont worry about his ego as long as he know what he is doing.

    so yes set up an appointment with him and you can decide for yourself and if were over that side of aus i would definitely see him.

    but id say he is very good as ive only heard great reveiws.

    try and keep strong and positive, (know its hard) but you can do this.;
