Not weeping just leaking...

Hello wonder women :-)

One more dose of Taxol and my chemo phase will be complete. One unexpected side effect for the past few weeks has been streaming eyes, and I wondered if anyone else has had the same experience. I'm not emotional but my eyes won't stop leaking!
  • I am 4 weeks past the last infusion of taxol and finally the eyes are starting to ease up with the watering, so hang in there.
And mine were bad, streaming constantly, red, swollen eyelids, intense itching, the lot.
They still react to windy weather and gardening, bending upside down in dusty areas, bright sunlight, etc
    But 100% better.
I use eye drops especially at night, it really helped, just didn't stop the watering though.
  • I had Alice Cooper moments trying to make the most of the few remaining eyelashes. Mascara was not a good idea. Marg

  • Yep...I had constant watery eyes and nose. My eyes became very sensitive to light also.
  • Oh I remember putting makeup on and driving to work....by the time I got there, it was all gone. It does stop. Alex xx
  • Never a bad idea after chemo, just to reassure yourself. But wait a bit. Taxol is rough on soft tissue which is why eyes, mouth (bad taste, loss of taste buds etc) and nose problems are common. But they do mainly clear up satisfactorily after a few weeks of no Taxol.
  • Yep, it's normal. As is a drippy, sometimes bloody nose! Hang in there, the end is in sight and most of these annoyances clear up pretty quickly after treatment stops.
