Nose still running

For all those that have the same saliva and/or eye issues, which treatment drugs are you on? I didn't have this the first time around in 2018 but this time they have added Perjeta to the mix.

Hi @June1952 I actually sleep with my mouth closed unless I have a cold or am over tired. Then I snore with mouth wide open lol. The anti reflux tablets have not worked. During the day I swallow with so much saliva and end up choking/spluttering on it. I also take anti histamine which hasn't made any difference. Daytime is just as bad as night but I am awake during the day so can clear my mouth, at night it just drools out.

How are you getting on @Blossom1961 ?
Do you sleep with your mouth open ?  A friend had the same issue and in the end it turned out she had sleep apnea - got the machine and her body sorted itself out at night and during the day.  Worth talking about ?

I might look into the dentons.

Hi Blossom, you are not the only one, as I sit here writing this, I am happily sniffing away, I have been on and am on currently an IV chemo for the last 9 years,but wat interested me was the excess saliva, I have this as well,its terrible when I go to the dentist 3 root canals and 3 fillings this year so far,all because of th drugs I am on, they cannot or will not take out any teeth,but that means at the dentist the poor dental nurse has a sucker in me all the time, I just create so much of the stuff,also dont need water to clean my teeth I create my own, so no idea why, I always have a mans cotton hanky tucked in my bra as tissues irratate my eyes, the fibres of the tissues get in and create havoc, a large mans cotton hanky does the job well.
I hav ejust learned to live with the whole process, I always wear sunglasses outside and my glasses inside,keep away from ceiling fans, air con and hot north winds outside,the joys of cancer,

Hi June. I have the Dentons as well. I took two reflux tablets this morning and will continue that for three days to see if it makes any difference. The onco is happy for me to take extra. Other than the excess saliva, I have no symptoms of reflux

@Blossom1961 have you tried various pillows to see which one is better for you ? 
We use the firm Dentons pillows for side sleepers (I also sleep on the back or tummy during the night with no problem) as it holds the neck and head firm.  It was recommended for reflux many years ago.
20 years ago the new hubby had a sore neck so he tried it and I never got it back !  We use nothing else. 
Worth a try if you have not done so.

@HM2010 I am on reflux tablets and have been since the start. I hope I don't need to increase the dose. Maybe I should try it and see. Sometimes I cough there is so much to swallow. My poor pillow is saturated by morning.

I have that too, apparently it’s reflux, you could try elevating your head a bit. I find it improves when my reflux is under control.

My head seems to be using all the water I drink. Not only does my nose run, but my eyes water and burn and I have excess saliva which is interesting when I sleep. My Onc says she has never heard of the eye and saliva thing so I am on my own with these ones.. I keep my eyes under control with chromo fresh but the saliva has me beat!
