Node on the lung

Yep! They didn't tell me about that blue dye until I woke up! So I peed blue, pooed blue and have a lovely blue stain on my breast... I'm now a smurfette! Heehee

I think it may well be the same as the bone scan. It is radioactive so they can pick it up during surgery on a gieger thingy in case the blue dye they injust during surgery is obscuring everything.

You will pee green a day or two and after surgery you might also be blue for a day lol.

I've  just had the SNB done and the injections didn't  hurt. It stang a little when you massaged the breast and the nodes took up the stuff. It didnt hurt as much as tbe CT  scan stuff did for me, that really stung my arm.

If it is the same bloke that did my bone scan he was really chatty & nice, it makes you feel more comfortable when they tell you whats going on.

The stuff they inject is it the same as the bone scan?

When I had my sentinel node done I honestly didn't feel a thing others say its very painful, so Just go with the flow on the day and try to relax, lol if possible ,I do remember however that I was freezing and wish I had taken a wrap of some sort, and the Dr was one of those I don't speak and I was chatting like a blundering idiot and he said nothing. Surprising what comes up on scans and all I can say if there is something there at least its found and they can deal with it, when I had my hystorectomy they found something wrong with my liver and I thought no I didn't come for that! Waiting is terrible as its amazing how our minds can run of and think all sorts of things. I think a lot of us have been there. all the best adean

Don't worry about the dye for the sentinel node. I know it sounds awful but honestly its just under the aureole and I barely felt them at all. He was very quick about it and all over in seconds. The awful bit is waiting and waiting for the dye to pick up in the right spot. I think mine took over two hours. Then off to surgery.

I had a read up on chemo and chances are if the lung thing is anything significant the chemo for the breast cancer might shrink it into oblivion any way. If not then its only an anomaly to be watched over time.

Step by step girl. Don't load yourself up with future things, just concentrate on the now. You are in good hands.

The chemist sells anesthetic cream called Emla cream, I highly recommend this for this injection. the nurses have similar cream but the cheap version its not as effective

Hi do you have a breast care nurse you could talk to or your own GP? I am sure they will put your mind at ease. Easy for me to say but try and stay positive. Hot chocolate is always helpful to me before bed.
