Next Challenge

Hi Everyone of you lovely people,

I am now faced with my next challenge in my cancer survival. Two malignant tumour has been discovered on my right thyroid gland. They are saying its not secondary breast cancer but another cancer not related. So now I have to face more surgery and possibly more chemo and radiotherapy. It's exactly 1 year since my breast cancer diagnoses. ITs a bit of a kick in the guts but so far I am just trying to wrap my head around everything. Lucky I have great doctors, husband, family, work mates and dear friends to get me over the next hump in the road.

Hope everyone else is pushing through all there treatments and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

    Hi Chrissy, Sorry to hear about the news of having cancer again, but yeah to no chemo.  I hope all is well and you are recovering from your surgery.

    I bet you are relieved about no more radiation or chemo.Isn't it crazy how in the "cancer world"we become grateful about any bit of "good"news about our cancer.Yes,that's the trouble with having body scans-you come out with all sorts of problems you never knew you had.Hope all goes well for next Thursday.

    My surgery date is next Thursday 27th Oct. Almost a year to the date I had my mastectomy. Yeah Just want it all over. I was told yesterday I only need Radioactive Iodine injections after the surgery and will have to travel from bundaberg to Brisbane for the treatment and over night stay in the hospital to keep an eye on me.

    So I dont have to have anymore Chemo - I was so happy about that. They are also looking at abnormalities with my CT scan in the small bowel. So they will be investigating that too sometime in the near future. Fingers and toes crossed that is just inflammation from Chemo.

    So sorry to read your cancer news.After all you've been through and now you have to face more of the same,just seems so unfair.That makes 2 this week of our lovely ladies on this site who have to face cancer treatment again.- you and Celeste.Gosh,it must have been a shock.Hope the surgery gets underway soon for you and fingers crossed that's all you need.Big hug to you.
