Hi. This is the first time on the blog for me so please bear with me. Had my first taxatere infusion last Friday. Thought I was doing so well until the bone pain hit Monday afternoon. I feel terrible!!! Far worse than AC. I hear that not only taxatere causes bone pain but also the booster shot of Neulasta and herceptin can cause it too. I am on all three of these so how do I know which is the cause. I also had two different types of cancers found, one was TNBC and the other was ER and HER2 + Has anyone else been diagnosed with two types? I have been reading through blogs but haven't found anyone yet. Hope to hear from someone. Jane

Hello Janey Good morning to you and welcome to BCNA online, you have done well with your first blog and glad you finding your way around the site. I had PR & ER + I had 3 FEC and 3 taxotere. The FEC was fine but the Tax was shocking. I suffered terribly with bone and nerve pain throughout my Tax chemo. I was on very strong pain killers plus also strongest pain patches to help me try and get thru. The Neulast injection which I had from my first chemo session also causes pain. I am not sure of the Herceptin but I think that is more gentle on the body. I found after my last chemo that the pain did ease somewhat. i am dealing with pain now but that is more from the Femara I think??? and also from me not doing much in way of exercise and joints cease up. If you are able to just do some gentle exercise (walking etc) WHEN YOU CAN then I would suggest you try but if you can't like me then don't beat yourself up because you will get back there. Once I had got thru chemo and was doing my radiotherapy I got back in to more walking every day. My GP was great in trying to help me with pain but your chemo onc can prescribe meds to help you. Your diagnosis of the different types of cancer does sound unusual but I am not sure whether other people out there may have this? I hope I have helped a little in that the pain is normal and does ease like everything else when chemo finishes. Medications are necessary I found to get your thru. Are you working at all. I found I was unable to work during my chemo. I feel for you and wish there was more I could do to help you. I am here for you to come back on and chat, vent, scream etc. Lots of love, Mich xoxoxo
