Had mammogram today and she said she could feel something but did not think it suspicious then nothing came up on mammogram.  Then had ultrasound and she could not find anything wrong.

So Yay!  it has been a long 24 hours..

Thanks Tonya and Chris for your thoughts.   Last time I had a core biopsy and the anaesthetic did not work and it was so painful I went white and trembly so I am hoping I wont need that again!

Yes, I am madly tidying the house today and actually enjoying it, even though I had a mostly sleepless night after 2 am.

Waiting is just so cruel and no amount of reassurance helps.When I have to wait for any results now I just stay really,really busy - clean cupboards out etc or go to a movie. Try and stay distracted tomorrow.If you get the all clear on Thursday then celebrate.I was sooo relieved the other week when my hip xray turned out to be normal that I opened a bottle of champaigne to celebrate  I didn't have bone cancer.This cancer threat will always be in the back of our minds but somehow we have to live with it and not let it consume us with fear.  Good luck for Thursday- will be thinking of you so let us know how you go.

Hi Julia, how awful for you to have to wait again for some results. As you said, not all lumps are cancer, but I know how hard it is to believe it will be anything other than cancer when you have already been through it once. Like you, I had another lump discovered while having a routine mammogram and ultrasound when booking in for a second mastectomy. It felt like history repeating itself when the mammogram was clear, but an ultrasound showed something suspicious. The radiologist was far more concerned this time and wanted a core biopsy done. Last time they did a fine needle biopsy and weren't very concerned at all. I spent 2 days convinced I had breast cancer again, but this time I was in the 9 out of 10 whose lump was not cancerous. I can appreciate your fear and anxiety, and I hope the test reveals something benign like me. All the best, love Chris xx
