New lump found

Hi all, we had a very quiet Easter largely because I was feeling somewhat flat after finding a new lump in my other breast. Feels practically the same as my first lump which was actually a lump under a thickening of the breast except this time hubby felt it too. I am off to my GP tomorrow to get it checked out. It has been over 5 months since my last mammogram and ultrasound. The logical part of my brain is listing multiple reasons why it couldn't be another cancer:

  • while having grade 3 HER2+ breast cancer a new lump couldn't possibly grow that fast in 5 months
  • I only finished chemo 5 weeks ago which would have killed off the cancer
  • I couldn't be that unlucky

I am actually not that alarmed about this - mostly I am just weary. It just seems like two steps forward one step back. Shortness of breath is finally a lot better. But hot flushes are coming every 15 minutes ensuring I am only sleeping 2 hours a night - hence the weariness. Can't take effexor to relieve the hot flushes and night sweats as I am allergic. Sleeping tabs don't help. Lost my eyebrows completely today. And now  a new change in my healthy breast.

So the ups and downs continue.

Take care,

Nadine

  • Hi Nadine

I finished treatment 9 months ago and recently found a new lump in my good breast. Everything was fine but you can't help but wonder. Like you I tried to talk to myself rationally but you just can't help that sub conscience thinking.  The only thing I can say is that you are still being monitored closely so if it is anything then you will have found it early. It is a reminder that we all need to be proactive with our health and our bodies. Good luck and I shall keep everything crossed that all is fine. Karen xox

  • You are going through the mill, you poor thing.  I am having hot flushes having had to come off HRT, but your experience makes me really ashamed of complaining about them.  Please keep us posted about how things are going.  Lots of hugs.

  • Hi Nadine, I'm sorry you are going through this. During my treatment I was suffering from breast pain and found a large lump in my good breast. It was a nervous week of waiting but ended up being a cyst and an infection.

I hope everything turns out to be ok, keep us posted??

  • Hi Nadine I'm feeling your pain. no, no, no. Hvan't we had enough. sending hugs Take care, Lyn
  • Hi Nadine

Crumbs! Fingers crossed there is a logical explanation.
