New Drugs that hopefully work!!

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your support sorry haven't been on much I have had a pretty rough few so weeks...

After being hospitalised  3 times over school holiday's we  finally got results and are back on track. I have had extremely bad bloating to the point I couldn't eat so after 10 days of this and many tests we stopped Chemo with Perjeta, as we think this is the problem.. I have since found out that my tumours are growing and have now mutated so we are now attacking it with  2 totally different drugs (cyclophosphamide & doxorubicin) which I start on Thursday. Will be doing 4-6 sessions and go from there. Hoping this helps as breathing is tight and im sick of sounding like I've run a marathon! On the up side of sitting in hospital with not much to do we have planned a holiday which im looking forward to! Hope everyone is well.

Hang in there Honey, sending you a big cuddle ??????

  • Sorry to read you are having a rough time. My treatment was with the two drugs you are about to start and I coped ok. Nausea after first session, mainly my fault because I thought I was good and decided not to take the medication after chemo that I was suppose to take. Having never been sick I hated taking any medication ( yes I have now changed). My oncologist kept a close eye on me and was able to make sure I did not get nausea again.

But as you know everyone is different and we are lucky to have such great Drs in Australia to look after us.

Take care and keep up that great strength you have.

    Anne-Marie ??

  • I hope you start feeling better and that you enjoy your holiday! I am currently on Herceptin and Perjeta plus Denosumab for my bones for metastatic Her2+ BC. I read your past post and read that you also have cancer that has spread. It is a hard road, I think for me emotionally more than anything. Best of luck with the new medicine! xo
