Hi Chriss,
What a damn pain for you. Like you, my neutrophils dropped to zero after my first TCH chemo. I was dreadfully ill and ended up in hospital for 5 days. Although I didn't get an infection (I stayed away from everyone) but I have autoimmune pancreatitis as well and ended up having a full pancreatic attack on top of the effects of chemo. Blah. I had chemo postponed for another week which upset me greatly as I just wanted it over. I ended up having to inject myself with neulastin to get my bone marrow to kick back in after each treatment. My hips and upper legs gave me tremendous pain for a day or two afterwards.
I didn't have a picc line. They put a port in instead. At one stage they had to use a ultrasound to find a vein. Blah. It's an awful time and to be sick on top of it with tonsillitis is just yuck. I hope you start to feel better soon. It's hard but you will get through it. Take care. I hope you manage to keep out of hospital but if that's where you need to be then do it. Hoping you managed to have a smile today. All the best and Merry Christmas to you and your family. Karen xox
