Nervous is an understatement

I went for my 1st year mammogram last Thursday. I thought it would be a quick 30 min affair. I began to get worried when they took a long time to come back. Then they took more films, the anxiety levels were getting higher. When they said I needed an ultrasound I was just assuming they were being cautious. But then they dropped the bomb shell, there was a spot next to last years surgery that looks a bit suspicious so they have spoken to my surgeon and I needed to come back for a biopsy. So not even 1 year from my initial diagnosis I have an anxious wait till I visit my surgeon on Friday. I keep thinking how can this be I only finished chemo in March and radio in June. I'm trying g to be positive and definitely trying to stay away from Dr Google but it's very difficult. It's going to be a long time until Friday

  • Sorry to hear you are in this position. The waiting does your head in for sure- so start cleaning out those cupboards.Chris is right,it could be scar tissue. But don't stress out if it's ebc again(you'd hardly think so though).I got ebc again 7 years after the first diagnosis. It was in the same spot and hadn't spread anywhere else.I had to jump through a few hoops again but 4 years later,I'm fine.Thinking of and sending hugs, Tonya xx

  • I know that it is an extremely anxious time for you. It is the waiting that is the worst. Just try and take one day at a time. You mentioned that you have just had chemo and radiation recently....you would have thought that they would have done there job...it just may be scarring . Try and stay busy...lots of distractions. Sending you lots of love. Let's know how you get on. Chris.xx Just a thought...don't they give you some information after your needle biopsy. (they did with me).x
