  • I got good at managing the pain I kept nurofen in my handbag and popped two straight after a fill. The first few days were the worst after that they seemed to settle and be ok - the last fill was probably the worst but it was all manageable with panadol or similar. My biggest struggle was managing a frozen shoulder... My PS has done two fat grafts to give me a bit of meat between the skin and muscle - my only issue now is that one of my expanders has sprung a leak ( probably as a result of the first fat graft ) so now I have to go through expansion again before exchange... We are aiming for early March- weekly expansions over 4 weeks starting on 28th of this month - fingers crossed... I don't know if fat grafts are standard - just an option... Mind you the bumps are soft and squishy now rather than being like concrete tennis balls which is a relief and my shoulder is much better - ( they took 120mils out each side for the first graft) The big break after the last fill relieves some of the soreness and tight feeling and I am told it is like heaven post exchange - here's hoping Hugs Chris xxx
  • Thank you so so much for putting up your photo story and so well described. I'm still at the fill stage and also feeling like Dolly! You did not mention pain much and I wondered how you went with that. I'm currently very very sore and my movement is a little limited. I'm having just 1 more fill then exchange in May. I was unaware of fat transfer used in conjunction with expander/implant and am now worried I will need the same. As you know mine was radical therefore the skin is very thin. Let's hope not. anyhoo I will do my photo story this weekend. Well done Chris, you have been through so much, like me you must feel your getting you back, I'm looking forward to your updates and by the way girl......nice tat! Love Susan xx
  • Hi great pictures, fantastic they have kept your tats.

    xx

  • I was really happy as they deliberately modified the location of the mastectomy scar in consultation with the ps in order to avoid the tattoo... It was not an essential thing for me however they made an extra effort and I think having something familiar when I look down has helped - particularly on the days when I feel a bit emotional about how it's all going or how it's looking - there is still that visible reminder of "me" And all in the public system too - they have been wonderful.... • Thanks for putting together such a comprehensive photo story. I think slow and steady wins the race in your case. I think you will be glad of that extra bit of skin in the long run. They are looking really great. What is also great is that your amazing tattoo is still intact! All the best tomorrow. Paula xxxxxx
  • Hi Chris, wow , what a journey you are having. And those tatts! I look forward to seeing the final product after exchange. And you'll need some new nips to put that ring in again.

Thanks for sharing, very brave and inspiring. XXXLouie
