MY LAST POST

Dear pink friends, sadly I must say this will be my last post in BCNA as I have received an e-mail from Kathy Wells with "A Word of Caution" for some of my opinions expressed in this network. As I would like to avoid further problems or misunderstandings I am going to leave this network.

However as I have made many good friends through here and I would like to make many more please feel free to contact me at my personal e-mail: [email protected]

The last two letters are AR not AU because they come from Argentina. ha

I also would like to add that I honestly wish you all to get healthy soon and to enjoy every single moment of your life. Please count on me in anything that I can be useful.

REMEMBER “This life is a treasure that must be discovered daily”

Love and light to all,

Leonor

Can I ask what is the seaweed supplement you take for blood counts? I take a number of natural therapies alongside my traditional treatment, and am curious to know about the seaweed supplement you mentioned. I take Astragalus for blood counts (and immune system, as well as a number of other natural therapies). Take care, Celeste?

  • Hi Leonor

Sometimes I agree with your postings, sometimes I don't, however the website you posted did have some uplifting stories to read, just not with any scientific backing when you looked into the trials quoted etc.

I did not find anything related to evidence based medicine, just spurious claims such as "cured my mum from terminal liver cancer!"

The site did discuss both complementary (undertaken along with more traditional therapies) and alternative therapies (those undertaken in place of the more recognised therapies.) But it also stated, and I quote, "If you (or your mum, dad, sister, or pet) are undergoing conventional cancer treatments – don’t despair. This blog isn’t intended to dampen your spirit: quite the opposite. Most, if not all of the treatments and supplements mentioned can be used alongside chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Just don’t bother asking your oncologist about them."

I tend to agree with this comment, if I had listened to advice I would never have found the relief offered from Krill Oil for the effects of the AI's, or the immune boosting properties of a seaweed supplement that has seen my blood counts climb rapidly into the normal range for the first time in over 12 months. I embrace the complementary medicines but still undertake the more normal cancer treatments.

The website "Quackwatch" is worth investigating.

Please stay on the forum, if not I hope you will still come to the South East Social Group and I'll catch up with you then.

    With love

  • Hi Leonor, just wanted to reassure you that there's no need to leave the site.  There's a lot of information available online and the BCNA policy team did have some concerns with some of the information on the site you linked to, and wanted to pass that on to you and anyone else who might read your post.

There was no criticism of you intended -- you're very welcome to keep posting and participating here.
