Hi Leonor
Sometimes I agree with your postings, sometimes I don't, however the website you posted did have some uplifting stories to read, just not with any scientific backing when you looked into the trials quoted etc.
I did not find anything related to evidence based medicine, just spurious claims such as "cured my mum from terminal liver cancer!"
The site did discuss both complementary (undertaken along with more traditional therapies) and alternative therapies (those undertaken in place of the more recognised therapies.) But it also stated, and I quote, "If you (or your mum, dad, sister, or pet) are undergoing conventional cancer treatments – don’t despair. This blog isn’t intended to dampen your spirit: quite the opposite. Most, if not all of the treatments and supplements mentioned can be used alongside chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Just don’t bother asking your oncologist about them."
I tend to agree with this comment, if I had listened to advice I would never have found the relief offered from Krill Oil for the effects of the AI's, or the immune boosting properties of a seaweed supplement that has seen my blood counts climb rapidly into the normal range for the first time in over 12 months. I embrace the complementary medicines but still undertake the more normal cancer treatments.
The website "Quackwatch" is worth investigating.
Please stay on the forum, if not I hope you will still come to the South East Social Group and I'll catch up with you then.
With love
Joy K
