My armpit high tissue expander Report

Having one boob after my mastectomy was daunting, how the -*&* I have going to hide this from my kids??! (they were to young to know) Yes scarf, bright one – even in the hospital.  A great way to hid my drains with a cute tote bag which carries my drain.

Having a tissue expander high above my armpit looking like a hard lemon was SHOCKING, now what do I do? Damn it, my bras don’t fit probably, even the mastectomy bras expect  symmetrical boob/s – gee get a grip Amy, you just survive cancer!   Well … I still want to look good to feel better, survive the  daily self-judgment in front of the mirror! May be I can:

  • A normal gorgeous normal bra (wireless) + a “in-build bra” Cotton Tank Top (the double bra – balance the unevenness)  You can find those in the maternity section in most Kmart and Target now a day
  • Top it up with a messy Print Top & plan matching scarf  (print  top camouflage my uneven boobs)
  • Or I can were some bright earrings (so my kids/people will comment on that instead of my lemon  boob + my boob)

Or

  • A detail riffle top that draw the attention to riffle and not your boob/s
  • A top with gathering in the neckline – loose it good, loose it great, loose helps me forget that I only have one ..
  • A top with a structure outer Jacket that tailor my shape and a gorgeous loud necklace!  Even a trenck with belt would work well.

My upper armpit-high lemon boob became orange, then grapefruit …. My wardrobe started with one scarf, now there are 20+ …

Enjoy building up your own fashion taste and expand your wardrobe with lots of scarf and hats – it was a great distraction and had lots of fun with it ! My young boys loved it too

This is my story with the tissue expander ... what's yours?

  • I too have a tissue expander but so far so good - yes - it sits high but as it get filled - it's lower down that expands.  I'm still uneven - probably a C vs a D (my remaining boob) - i started back wearing my normal underwire bras last week - some are more comfy than others.

Day to day I don't care much what people think - if they want to look that's their business not mine. Luckily I live in Melbourne - I am and have been for some time - a fan of the scarf and it's been worn on warmer days than I would normally but hey - with a light cotton scarf casually slung over the shoulders - one with a ruffle is great and lots of length - it's actually a really contemporary look.

I  love all of your ideas - keep them coming!
