I have 2 little metal clips left in the area where the tumour was removed .... they should show up on any mammogram & ultrasound. My surgeon told me he was putting them in (they are tiny) and they are just used as markers for future reference.
Are you able to make contact with your Surgeon and/or Breast Care nurse about it @Renatha for reassurance, even prior to your Dec appointment? I am sure they are not meant to cause any discomfort at all! They also 'mark' the area re scarring, I think, for ultrasound reference.
I hope your biopsy is clear & that the tenderness resolves itself! Funnily enough - I was a bit tender last week leading up to my ultrasound & I asked that they look for a seroma 'just in case' (there was none) ..... also had those shooting pains that I had during Rads ..... All good now tho!
