Maxalon use - how soon after food

Great advice as always ladies. I had tried on previous weeks to take it before food but it had little to no effect to how I felt after food intake. I can deal with the bloating until that subsides then I take the Maxolon. I ended up waiting about 3.5 hours after food (when the bloating subsided). Then went to bed. Throughout the night was fine. Now I'm on the good meds for a few days - usual dexamethsone and ondansetron. So shouldn't have the trouble again until I come of those.

I had the same problem, nausea was rather random and often not until a while after eating.
I took the anti nausea regularly for the first few days after chemo, then only if I started to feel sick in the last weeks. Taking it before bed was the best for me, gave me most of the day nausea free, then I would usually need one mid afternoon.

I took Maxolon but after a few days the Team realised it doesn't work at all, that I was allergic to it, which alot of people are. No anti nausea meds worked at all for me throughout Chemo, the only thing that just made me sleep was Ativan. Maxolon was like an out of body experience lol, I had no idea but the Team told me how I was jittery, paranoid, it was so bizarre! Melinda x

One of the nurses on my oncology team told me to take it 30 mins before eating regardless of whether you feel nauseous or not as this aids in the food going down....i take pramin though rather than maxalon, dont know how or if they are different.

If you feel sick after eating just take it straight away.  No special instructions
