Mastectomy and Reconstruction - Any reviews for the BCI Westmead

Hi,
I carry the BRCA1 mutation.  I've just recovered from ovarian cancer and am planning to have a preventative double mastectomy and reconstruction this year.  So many surgeons to choose from.  So far I'm being drawn towards the Breast Cancer Institute at Westmead Hospital in Sydney.  Dr Elisabeth Elder has a great reputation and her results look great.  Does anyone have any experience with surgery here?

    Hi Ren153, No I don't have any experience with surgery at Westmead. I do however have experience with Jane who is one of the breast care nurses associated with Westmead (she also works from Auburn) and she is truly sensational!! A font of knowledge and so very very caring. Couldn't ask for better as far as breast care nurses are concerned.  I had a single skin and nipple sparing mastectomy with immediate reconstruction using silicone implant and my surgeon at Auburn was brilliant.
