masectomy
Hi Im just sitting here, just out of hospital after 2 days. Kids asleep excited for christmas tomorrow. I am still in pain can take weeks apprantently, am taking pain relief which is knocking me roun...
CONGRATULATIONS on your good news in time for Christmas !
I hope you are having a wonderful day and are able to enjoy being with your little children, even if you take rest breaks now and then.
I agree with Natasha - it is far easier to be open about your scar. I found it helped me if friends asked to see my scar as I gradually became less self-conscious about it all. This is my first Christmas without 'rightie' so know just how you are feeling.
Don't wait - let your husband see it NOW. The longer you wait the harder it will be as it will build up in your mind - and no doubt his. Besides, he can take on the role of your masseur once the scar heals over - and that has its own benefits !
You are still you - with or without that breast - and what is a scar after all ? At least it is not on your face where all can see it !
I hope you have seen a nurse and have received your My Care Kit with the soft Berlei bra. I wore baggy shirts until I felt comfortable in that bra with the soft form.
Personally I chose not to go with any reconstruction but I must be a lot older than you as 'little children' would be my grandkids !
Please take care of yourself. Enjoy the festive season.
Kind thoughts to you
Summer :-)
