- Cupcake2020MemberThanks Jamavon - I have actually joined that group recently. Finally good to connect with people who know what these "fast growing little buggers" :-) are! The posts on there are what alerted me to the fact I should make sure monitoring is more frequent than the suggested 12 month check up.
Hope you are doing well. I am so glad I escaped the radiation (4cm and away from wall) - I have a little healing to go as I had post op infection but I am almost there. Let's hope thats all for us. - jamavonMemberHi Linda, I had surgery for a malignant phyllodes tumour MPT in November 2019. I had unilateral mastectomy and 5 weeks radiation as my tumour was 7.5cm ( fast growing little buggers ). The key is wide clear margins of at least 1cm around the tumour. Yes, have your surgeon monitor closely...although rare they can reoccur. I belong to a Facebook group for phyllodes with many women from around the world. It is hard when little is known about our tumours, the Facebook group is super supportive. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
- TinksMemberIt’s good to hear that information was useful! More hugs Tinks xx

I have looked at tthat site several times but hadn't come across that page. It answers all my questions in one go .
Thanks for the hugs too. Really needed at this time as I live alone making isolation that much harder. Here's lots of hugs right back at you! Linda x - TinksMemberhttps://www.breastcancer.org/symptoms/types/phyllodes/follow_upSo sorry you have had this diagnosis and had to have a mastectomy. This is an American site which is well known in the breast cancer world, seems useful regarding follow up requirements. Hope this helps lots of hugs Tinksxx
