Lymphoedema

I saw noticed a photo on Instagram today of a woman at risk of lymphoedema who had interesting taping done. I'm just wondering if it is used here in Australia.

  • My previous physio did this (alongside the massages etc) and it helped a bit - it is to try and channel the fluid more effectively apparently - it was particularly helpful on my hand. Am currently doing bandaging / massages / laser treatment regularly with my new physio (she took over when the other one moved away) and have a new set of compression garments to try and keep things under control - all of which is costing me a fortune :(

  • My physio does it. It’s effective but unfortunately I developed an allergic reaction to the tape.

Thanks @primek, I googled it and it's called Kinesio tape I think. I would have liked this for the seromas I had. I love the coloured tape, instead of beige. I hate beige these days. LOL
  • I've not seen it used for this but physios do use taping for other injuries so it could be suggested.
