Hi Nards,it is a very difficult decision. However in my case I have the bracken 2 gene. I was also diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. I only had a lumpectomy. The surgeon stated in my case if the cancer returned it rarely comes back in second breast so no need for a double masectomy. Some women want both breasts removed for piece of mind.
