Hi all, Not sure what to write here, as i noticed i would be the most senior for this shocking iBC,i am 83 and it was a late age diagnose,despite my age i have had all chemo,surgery, herceptin and now radiation at cabrini i am stage 3b with MO.

Thank you for your reply,i am not sure how to navigate around here but i did read how well you are doing, i wish you all the best.!I I have had my treatments with just herceptin and a little radio to go.i had hardly no efect at all with the treatments, it has baffled the doctors..Please keep in touch... My overall health ove rthe years has been good, type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure were my main 2 concerns before this,never drank or smoked, raised 4 kids,,i am in the Armadale area and get treatment at cabrini..the doctors are really baffled as to why the chemo never affected me..I feel the older you are the less affect..How are you going overall? may i ask what stage as i am in stage3b NO, i think it means just to breast, i had my mastectomy.. I am going really well.I am 2 months past my chemo,and I am taking Tamoxifen.My doctors mother,was diagnosed just after me,and she is 86.She had a mastectomy and is doing well.I think it doesn't discriminate in any way! Cheers Robyn.

You might be better off to put this as a new post as more people will see it. Just go back to your 'My Blog' page and click on 'create a new post' then type in there. New posts come up on the latest from the network page so everyone will see it, otherwise not many people look at older posts. I did not have chemo before surgery but it sounds like the chemo was very effective against your cancer. If you are unsure about the treatment you now need, you should talk to your doctors and ask them to explain. Deanne x

Hi all,

I got my report a few days ago after mastectomy and it said chemo got all cancer in breast and no cancer found in nodes for my IBC, has anyone got similar results?

I was wondering what a good result is after surgery from the pathology report!

No evidence of cancer in breast and no cancer in nodes,has anyone had the same result?

The report came back no cancer in nodes found ,15 removed, and no cancer left on breast,,all clear....

If the surgeon told you that you had Stage 3b this maybe why you need radiotherapy. Stage 3b usually means that your cancer had spread to either the muscle or skin. If you are unsure you would be best to ask the radiation oncologist or one of your other doctors. Deanne

As I understand it, it is not an issue of clear margins with lymph nodes. It is the number of nodes that were found to contain cancer even though they have been removed. Any more than 1 and radiotherapy gives a better chance of the cancer not returning. Did you have cancer in more than 1 lymph node? Deanne
