Hi CatherineMary, it's a wonderful feeling knowing you won't have to have those needles stuck into your hand/arm for any more intravenous drips.. I know as I finished my Herceptin treatment today 6/7/16. My Oncologist though has thrown a spanner in the works and mentioned the hormone treatment, now I am pretty positive this was not mentioned along the way, I am in the lower end of the scale (10-20%) of chances of it recurring anywhere else (you know, that dreaded C word). I have told my Onc that I won't go on the hormone treatment for now, as I believe the risk not scary enough to assault my body with more chemicals, (and I must say I was shell shocked that he suggested I go on them). So he has agreed to leave it for now, and re evaluate the situation in three months time, so I can at least get my body back to some "healthy" status before more onslaught of chemicals.
Now, which one are they putting you on? Did you do your research on the fors and againsts? I have read so much and heard from others some dreadful stories about the hormone treatments, especially the Tamoxifen, that I really don't want to have to use this if not 100% necessary. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Happy travels from now on.
