Just Diagnosed and Waiting...

Hi Everyone,

I noticed a lump a week ago today and went straight to my GP who sent me for an urgent mammogram and ultrasound.

The lump is quite big (although I only just notced it which they found strange) so they did a needle biopsy too.

I got the pathology results last Friday saying it was Phyllodes (no grade was given though?)

I have my first meeting with the cancer clinic tomorrow and I am absolutely terrified.

I am 29 years old with two baby girls (2 year old and 10 month old) I can't handle the thought of not seeing them grow up.

Can anyone please give me advice on what to expect and what will happen?

    Glad you have found us on this site. Please feel free to post in this group or there is also my blog (if you haven't found it already) from when I was first diagnosed on the site too which has a lot of different stories from the ladies in this group added there too.

     

    I can completely understand your agony when you think about your baby girsl. When I was diagnosed with borderline phyllodes tumors my girls were 3, 5 and 7 years old and all I could think of is what will 3 girls do without their mum - they need their mum!!! This gave me the strength and the determination to do what I had to do and get through this for them. I am sending you prayers and lots of strength to get through this and if you need to talk to someone who knows exactly what you are going through I am happy to talk.

    I know its a shock, but try not to stress to much. I was told that until they actually remove the PT and test it, you don't really know what you are dealing with. I also found my PT and it was around 5cm when removed. I had a lumpectomy, with regular follow ups, but to some degree they treat case by case, as they can vary in size and grade. They grow amazingly fast. The biggest thing seems to be getting it removed with wide margins. Hop on to the FaceBook page if you want to read more.
