I hope your first chemo went well today and I wish you the very best during the rest of your treatment.

I brought a new journal with me on my first 3 or 4 treatments and wrote in it if I felt like it. I didn't put myself under any pressure to do anything, alhough I always had a book becasue I love to read.

The chemo nurses were absolutely brilliant and if they had time would come and have a chat with me, I will never forget those angels.

Good luck and keep smiling your lovely smile, treatment will be over before you know it!

I hope all goes well with you tomorrow. I'm sorry this has happened to you.

I also had Herceptin & paclitaxel as Abraxane. There are different formulations of paclitaxel. I found both treatments not bad at all. I'm still on herceptin. I started these treatments straight after finishing 12 weeks of EC chemo.

I think the herceptin affects my sleep for a few nights afterwards. Neither the abraxane or the herceptin caused nausea, so I was able to even eat and drink while having chemo. I woudl talk with other patients during the while process. It was not comparison with the EC chemo.

Some of my hair fell out on EC chemo while I had a scalp cooling cap but then it re-grew while I was on Abraxane!

The abraxane was not bad at all at first.  In the last few weeks I had two mouth ulcers. Down the track you may wish to buy something for that.

I also steered clear of crowds or people with infections to minimse the chance of picking up a bug. However, my blood counts always came back ok while on abraxane.

The hardest thing was my brain seemed to stop working properly by the end! I became really dumb! It is now 2 months since I finished it and I'm back to normal now!

I take my diary, a couple of magazines, a novel, a shawl, mobile phone, food and something to drink but always arrive with a coffee.  I find I end up pretty sleepy and usually end up having a nap.  I now look on the time getting chemo as my rest time. Good luck tomorrow.

Good luck for the day.  Yes it is a bit boring and I found it hard to manage an ipad etc with icy gloves on let alone eat icypoles etc.  Yep a shawl or rug is essential.  thinking of you
