Is it to good to be true!

Hi @Hendrix, my fingers and toes are crossed for you that docetaxel will be kind to you. I have just had my second cycle of docetaxel today but I had a 25% dose reduction as I had all sorts of issues starting day 4 after infusion. I felt quite good for the first few days and like @TonyaM mentioned I too felt like road kill and like @Zoffiel it also did horrible things to my intestines along with oral thrush, an irritatingly itchy rash, really bad bone/muscle pain and lost all taste among other things. I don't want to put you off, like @melclarity I too am drug sensitive so I do tend to react badly anyway. As the other girls have said we all react differently to these f**** drugs they give us to treat this f***** disease (sorry hope I don't offend anyone but it's how I feel tonight). Maybe just have the panadol or something stronger if you need on standby for day 4 and be kind to yourself. I have know others to find docetaxel to be much easier. I am wishing this for you too. Best of luck and remember, you can do this. I went back for round two even though my first round was totally shitty. 

Oh Tamoxifen is a hoot! (Not!) But it's a walk in the park compared to chemo.Some women breeze through it and some struggle with it. I got bad hot flushes,sleepless nights and low mood. I took a low dose antidepressant called Endep 10mg and that really helped with all those symptoms and it had no side effects(for me).Try not to think too far ahead,just get through the chemo and make sure you pamper yourself and have little treats to look forward to.xx

I would like to know too. I will have to take it also. I'm on zoladex injections at the moment for 2yrs.

@TonyaM what do I look forward to with tamoxifen? Is there more joy to come

I did chemo in 2010- I'm fine now. I was on Tamoxifen for 4 yrs after that(didn't quite make 5yrs cos had enough).

@LMK74 they chose docetaxel because I have problems with numbing of the hands and arm and paclitaxel would make that worse.  Good luck with your surgery and sending you hugs

@Hendrix, I did paclitaxel weekly x12. I don't know how different that is to docetaxol, but for me I had diarrhea for 12 weeks so was scared not to be near a toilet. I developed hand and foot syndrome where my hands and feet were burning and sore. A few body aches, my mouth felt like it was burning also. At times my jaws aches too. I've just finished my last ac  chemo yesterday. I did mine in reverse as I'd had a heart  attack the year before so was waiting for clearance from cardio. I had no nausea on either chemo.
Roadkill sums up well how lol how I  feel on ac. The fatigue incredible. Best of luck and hope you fair well on it.

@fairydust I am enjoying it so far...normally I'm sick as a dog after A/C...today on taxel...I went for a walk...which I don't normally do for first 3 days...cooked my fav meal and tasted better than it has of late...not 100% but enjoyable and I think I will manage to go into work tomorrow at this stage bonus!! I still can't do coffee and black tea though ☹️

Thank you @primek I'm having it every three weeks...I get slight bone pain as I have neulasta shot 24hrs after chemo to keep my white blood cells up as I ended up in hospital after 1st round of chemo with an infection and very low cell count...but after A/C I hope taxel is easy on me
