Infection - 8 weeks, post op...Nutri Bullet ??

Hey to all. Well going into about the 8th week of post op infection. What concerns me is that the last 2 weeks, Ive had temps between 37.5  - 38.2. Goes up and down. Redness faded a bit but not the temps. Have asked before about others with similar redness have had. Was wondering what about the  temps with the redness in breast??

Seeing surgeon Tuesday, Oncologist Wednesday. Im not sure they even know what's going on. They basically said last week most of infection, inflammation has been killed off with antibiotics, but there's probably little bit if bacteria sitting in there somewhere. So concerned, its gone on so long. Chemo not even on my agenda to start at this point.

I just want this infection gone ??

On a different note. I was thinking I need to do something drastic like buy a nutra bullet, lol. Feel like I desperately need to get something substantial in me to fight this.

Anyone used a bullet or blender and was it a good thing, lol ??

  • Hi there,

I had my reconstruction surgery cancelled 3 times as my white cell count and platelets were in my boots after 2 lots of different chemo in 18mths after my recurrence. I don't have a neutra bullet as I prefer pure juices. I have a slow pressed juicer and have a big green juice daily and also a carrot juice daily. Both are mixed with various veggies. I find green apples are a great base for any juice or bullet type drink as they make most of the stronger tasting vegetables much more palatable.

After a couple of months of juicing my levels were normal!!! I still drink juices daily and even though my blood counts remain in the low normal range (still normal) they have never slipped below normal again and I barely ever get sick.

I truely believe in fresh whole foods and juices with no additives. You can't go wrong

    good luck

  • Hi Kazza,

You've had a rough time, with the post op infection.  All the best with appointments this week.

I have no experience with the nutribullet, but I've heard good reports.  Go for it! Sending good vibes your way.

  • Hi Kazza

i didn't get Nutri bullet but something similar from Woolies called Nutri Ninja. It was handy and I used it for my green drink like Kale and berries during my chemo period.

Easy to use and I think worth it.  I think I need to go back to use it for radiation time.

all the best and hope your infection is over soon. Take lots of vitamin C. My surgeon asked me to take at least 1000 or 2000 mg each day before and after surgery. Not sure if that helps.

  • Hi:):) My daughter bought me a Nutri bullet when I finished chemo and it is FANTASTIC!!! It comes with a book of recipes that are put in groups of what they are good for,and there is a lot about building immunity etc.I know there are other machines that are similar, but it is so powerful. It definitely does what it is advertised as doing.I put fruit( especially red berries) chia, yoghurt, nuts, spinach etc. There is so much you can put in it.I put a blog post about it when I first got it and I had many replies. You might like to have a look at it.I think that anything like the Nutri bullet, where you can get so much good nutrition so quickly,is a definite benefit during and after treatment. Our bodies take a battering with BC and concentrated vitamins and minerals in fresh food can only benefit us.Cheers Robyn xox

  • Hi Kazza

i bought a nutribullet whilst having treatment. I must admit to not using it at the moment as I like a hot drink on cold mornings but in the warmer months I was using it every day. I don't know if it actually worked or was just in my head but it did make me feel better and feel as though I had a bit more energy. I am super duper fussy with food so struggled with some of their recipes but once I found something that wasn't completely unpalatable to me, I was right. I figured that it can't hurt that's for sure. Your poor body is going through so much with the infection that every little thing has to help. Good luck. Karen xox
