I'm baaaaaack!

Hi ladies! It's been a while I know. Just thought I'd let you know where I'm at. I had taxol number 12 last Monday (yip! yip!) I don't like to call it the last chemo for fear if jinxing myself for the future so we say 5 months of chemo completed :) I'm now on the 3 weekly herceptin and am booked for my re excision next Wednesday. I then have RT planning and start RT 15/11 which will finish in the first week of jan. then complete herceptin and 5 years if tamoxifen phew! I've been back at work part time since the taxol started and that has been an interesting roller coaster. In the beginning I was happy to get out of the house and do something but then as I got back into it (I write chemo protocols and non treatment info for the nsw cancer institute) I really didn't want to be there. TOO MUCH CANCER! my brain was screaming! And I actually almost resigned. I was also getting a lot of headaches and being the worry wart that I am my DIC sent me for an MRI which showed that I had a brain (yay) and that it didn't have any cancer in it BiG yay! BUT! There was an area in the back of my skull which had some uptake that may or may not have been bone mets. So we're back to freaking out! And off I went to have a bone scan. Thankfully the bone scan was also clear so I could continue on my merry way. As the weeks wore on I was happier about staying at work and they put me in charge of bone marrow transplant so I wouldn't have to much contact with the other cancery stuff. It got easier to come to work but then I started to get weary. There would be days when I was falling asleep at the computer or on the drive home! So I'd take days off here and there to sleep and lie on the couch and vegetate. Now I'm slowly starting to feel better although I am still tired. I'm feeling better about work and think that I may be ok staying there but it will be on a part time basis. Hope everyone else is well! There is lots more but I really should get off and get ready for work!!!!
