I HATE BLOOD TESTS

OK. I NEED TO VENT.

Does anyone else dread the blood tests ? My veins are shot post chemo and it hurts :(
I always seem to get the nurse at the path place who is hopeless and has difficulty getting blood from me and leaves a big bruise.
I always try to quietly ask for someone experienced because I have had previous traumatic experiences with giving blood, but today the hopeless nurse confronted me about it.
I calmly tried to explain my history to her, but she just didn’t get it.  Why should I have to explain myself?
I swear, she must work there 24/7 and is always free when I get there!!!!!!
I DONT NEED THIS  :|
  • :/ @FLClover thanks so much for that!   Eeeek that sounds horrible  :(
I did think ‘ I cannot be the only one who experiences this!’

As if we haven’t been through enough  :/

  • Oh blood tests.  I have very deep veins  I do explain each time and some people are willing to listen, some not.
I used to come out with band-aids on 2 arms, 2 wrists, at least 1 hand and then even a foot !  Talk about bruises !
I have now found a doctor surgery which has a resident pathology place and manage to get a decent blood taker each time - in and out and not even a band-aid needed, let alone any bruises.
I am soooo thankful for these ladies.
  • I got jabbed once for blood test, and I had a massive bruise for almost two weeks. Very painful too. Did not want to go back there.
Also got jabbed in the stomach with Zoladex a couple months ago by a new nurse, who couldn’t get the needle all the way in and stopped halfway, then other nurse told her it needs to go all the way in and they pushed it. I can’t explain how painful it was. The needle is like 7cms long.  After that I thought stuff this, I’m not allowing her to jab me anymore. I don’t care whose feelings get hurt. I’m in enough pain already from everything else I’m going through! Stand up for yourself @Caz1, that’s the way! 👊🏻🙂
