Louise and girls....many thanks for your informative comments regarding reconstruction. I am due to have bilateral free tram flap reconstruction on 30th August at Hunters Hill Private. My Surgeon is Dr Megan Hassall. My initial surgery was April 13th 2011, a date I remember before any family members birthday.
At present I am apprehensive about what is coming even though I am eager to have breasts again. Imagine this is a normal process to go through. On New Years 2011 my family and I moved to Malaysia for 18 months. Three weeks ago we returned. In May I had my final booking appointment to arrange Hospital admission. I arrived in Sydney late on a Sunday night and had my appointment at 1pm the following day. By 9.30pm I was on my way back to KL.
Not knowing what is coming is bringing up similar feeling to those I experienced prior to my bilateral mastectomies...without the terror and tears! Reading the comments has given me information that will set me on the right path.
