Her2 breast cancer with local recurrence

I have just been told that I am to start kadcyla treatment next week. I have had chemo, radiation, herceptin and am now on tamoxifen. I had a routine ultrasound done on my mastectomy side and mammogram on my existing breast and the ultrasound revealed three nodules on my scar side. They did a biopsy and it returned abnormal cells. They removed them in surgery but the surgeon cannot guarantee it is all gone. They seem quite negative even though my ct and bone scans were all clear and it doesn't show it is in my chest wall. I am hoping this is a good place to start with kadcyla as the oncologist said it will just slow the progress of the cancer. My head is still spinning from this as everything is clear. I feel when I speak about it I am telling someone else's story......not mine.....that it can't be happening.....especially as I currently have no cancer showing on scans. Would love to hear other people experiences with kadcyla. The oncologist could not tell me a timeframe re life expectancy....I spose it depends on how it works for me. So would love to hear some positive stories rather than all this negative talk I am getting from the drs. Drs I might add who found nodules on my lung on my first ct scan after treatment finished and pretty much told me it was secondary cancer. Come back in 9 wks for rescan and low and behold they have gone away......as we expected.......what the? So confused!
