Her 2 for the second time
Hi there, I have just been diagnosed with my second Her 2 cancer after 6 years NED, however this time it was hormone negative DCIS. Does anyone know if you can have Herceptin for DCIS?

- au0reiMember@Perks I can see it on Youtube. I am not sure why it is not accessible. Can you try to copy the link instead and paste it in a new browser? If you still can't, let me know, I will send to you via PM. :)
- PerksMemberAfraser thank you that sounds exciting.

Antibody-drug conjugates or ADCs are a class of biopharmaceutical drugs designed as a targeted therapy for treating cancer. Unlike chemotherapy, ADCs are intended to target and kill tumor cells while sparing healthy cells. As of 2019, some 56 pharmaceutical companies were developing ADCs.
According to one recent article, 12 ADCs are now at trial stages, which means one or more may be used for patients in a few years (or sooner). While some may be more effective against specific cancers, the whole idea of targeted treatment would seem clearly better for the general health of patients and may be more effective in killing off cancer cells.
- PerksMemberI'm not sure what the 12 ADC's are can you please explain?

It seems that twelve ADCs have received market approval by the FDA – all for
oncotherapies.
Not sure when or where they will be used. - au0reiMemberThis is really great news for those of us who are suffering Her2+ cancer. Not sure if we have this in Australia and not sure if it can work for cancer that has gone to the brain.
- FLCloverMember@au0rei haha, always good to find a likeminded person 😀😀😊😊.
Sorry your day has been so upsetting 😞. I got stressed just reading about it. I think you did well to let it go and do a meditation. I like that one you posted. I’m currently doing meditation too. I do about an hour every day. I use Insight, and have been for about 4 years now. I also use YouTube for EMDR meditation and other similar ones. Emotional and psychological health is so important 💟. - au0reiMemberNot a very good day today hoping yours is better. My older child smashed his lap top and slammed a glass diffuser making a hole in the bathroom door and spilling the oil onto the carpet. He’s stressed with VCE but he’s been venting his frustration on furniture etc. I was so upset but I had to really learn to deal with it and let go.

You sound just like me 😂 🖐🏻FLClover said:@Keeping_positive1 I also think it’s scary that we have to pretend it doesn’t play a role in illness, when it has already been proven scientifically that it does. Even GPs will tell you that certain things like headaches etc are from stress, but then it appears that cancer is not related at all 🤔. Hmm, I don’t think so. I know with me it was. I even knew a year before my diagnosis that I might get sick in some way from all the panic attacks and anxiety I was enduring. I just didn’t know what to do to stop it. And there you go, I got breast ca. I was healthy in other ways, just not emotionally.I also am happy when I read women on the forum are taking steps to improve their lives, change jobs, work less, do more self care, and most importantly not be people pleasers. I was a massive people pleaser. I’m now learning to set boundaries and say no, as opposed to before when I’d say yes to everyone and everything, to my detriment. These sorts of things are really important in healing from illness.
