  • Hi Sharon I have used bio oil thus far but have fallen in love with all moo goo products - wash, udder cream, lip balm, I also use their face serums.  I'm sticking with bio oil for scar at the moment but I'll use the udder cream once I finish chemo and get to radio hugs

I have tried both bio oil and moo goo udder cream.

i have found the best for me is Sorbelene Cram from Aldi.

Have used it everyday for 5 months and the container is still not empty, my Mastectomy scar is magnificent and my skin in lovely in readiness for 25 sessions of radiotherapy.

  • Hi Sharon,

I was recommended to use bio oil as well by my breast care nurse, once all healed. It's lovely, even rubbed it into my bald head too!  I had to have radiotherapy as well after chemo, so in preparation for that, I then switched to moogoo skim milk udder cream. (LOL, I know sounds hilarious!)

All the best with the healing.

  • Hey sharon. I too was advised to use bio oil by my surgeon on my lumpectomy scars. Can highly recommend it and a bottle goes a very long way.

  • Hi Sharon

As long as you have no open areas in the skin, begin to use Bio Oil - not the cheapest product but excellent.  It is soft and easy to use.  I was given some when in hospital (a gift from a friend) which was the best gift as I would not have thought to buy it for myself.

Once I began to get lymphoedema and attended a masseur for that she recommended I gently massage across the scar and this has done wonders to break up the bumpy bits.  My scar is now a fine line and people who have seen it are quite amazed.

TIP - buy the big bottle as you will find it a great product.  Watch out for a special as you can get it at pharmacies (and Chemist Warehouse) quite reasonable at about 20% off the normal price.  You do not use much at a time as it spreads well.

Enjoy the experience as well, it has a delightful light perfume.

    Hope this helps.

Hi Sharon, The breast care nurse advised me to use sorbolene for my wound, and that seemed to work well for me. Your breast care nurse may know another product, so I suggest that you contact her for advice. I hope that this helps and your wound softens for you and is more comfortable soon. Best regards, Trace ????
