I was the same - oestrogen and progesterone negative but HER2 positive. Had lumpectomy, chemo, radiation and Herceptin. No history of any cancer in family.
If you have a family history that's probably why they did BRCA test and could also be why he was questioing whether hormone treatment would give you any benefits. But if no family history and negative for BRCA can't see why you would need hormone inhibitors.
