Hi @Samtasia! We are the same situation but it would be wise if you get a second opinion especially if you wanted to have children.
However, did you do gene testing? If so, you can be positive for the BRCA gene and the likelihood of you getting ovarian cancer is high thats why probably he suggested removing the ovaries. But you can always double check with your breast surgeon as well. All the best.
