Hair removal after axillary dissection

Hello lovely network members

sooo they say not to shave my pit after axillary dissection but living in the Qld heat I can't bear to go au naturel...but after looking at the alternatives in the supermarket I don't know where to start. I was thinking of Veet or similar but after reading the packet I wondered if it's a good idea to put chemicals in that area. I am a wuss about waxing...any recommendations gratefully received. PS hope this is the right forum!
