After 3 FEC's and my second docetaxel on Tuesday, I now appear to have hair growth all over my head. I never shaved it in the first place but just cut it short and most of it fell out but I was left with many fluffy bits so have never became totally bald.
I was certainly not expecting this to happen during chemo, has anyone else had this?

You might need to check with your doc about the swimming pool -chlorine would be off limits. You probably googled like me and found a bald group of ladies in the USA who never got their hair back after Taxotere.I believe there is a small possibility of this and the doctors don't warn you.If I had been,I may have gone with another chemo.But it's early days for you so don't panic.I feel for you because summer is coming and you'll probably have to keep going with the headgear.That nearly drove me nuts last year -too hot to wear wigs so mostly wore cotton bandanas and caps.Hope you can use your pool.

I had radiotherapy after a double mastectomy. I used sorbalene and lanolin during my radiation therary (sorbalene during the day and lanoline at night.) My skin was at it's worst about ten days after treatment finished. It was sore, scabby and red. At this time I began using Kookaburra Herbal Skin Care's "Balm for Unhappy Skin" (they have a website - http://www.kookaburraskincare.com.au/aboutUs.html) for about a week. It stings a bit but not much and not for long. I put it on morning (with sorbalene over) and night (with lanolin over). My skin was completely healed after one week. I'm now using vitamin e oil to help get my skin back to normal.
I had Taxotere and it took almost 3 months before any hair started to grow. I was so upset about it,thought I would be bald forever,My oncologist said that Taxotere is harder on the hair folicles.Anyway,hang in there-I have a good mop of hair now.I seem to remember last summer being awful cos of the night sweats,particularly because I had started on Tamoxifen.It improved after 3 months or so but that could have been because I started taking a low dose antidepressant called Endep(10mg)which helps with hot flushes and sleep. As for radiotherapy,I used to keep a tube of aloe vera gel in my handbag and straight after my zap I would go to the loo and rub it in my boob.I would soak in a warm salt bath each night and then apply vit e cream.My skin never broke down but my boob looked like a glowing hotplate by the end.You get abit tired half way through but nothing like chemo. Welcome to this site-lots of first hand knowledge and lots of support.

I had 3 doses of FEC and lost my hair completely. I shaved off the last bits. However my hair started to grow back during Taxotere. But my eyelashes fell out and my eyebrows thinned drastically. I completed Chemo about 2 months ago. I now have hair that looks like a pixie cut, my eyebrows are back to (almost) normal and myy eyelashes are coming in slowly. All good.

Unfortunately like Lutte, I have also lost most of my eyebrows and eyelashes, Let's hope the fluff keeps going!
